Metro stem casters for wire shelving combine with Metro mobile posts and shelves to create mobile shelving units. After all, they easily pop into our hollow mobile posts. As a result, Metro stem casters for wire shelving are an effective solution for transforming static storage into mobile shelving.

Specifically, mobile shelving enables you to easily reposition shelving to clean floors and walls.  Also, allow you to reconfigure storage areas as needs change. Finally, when used as a true cart, these casters provide reliable transport over most facility floors.

Rigid casters help carts remain on a straight line, for example. On the other hand, swivel casters enable greater maneuverability in tight spaces. Finally, brake swivel casters ensure mobile units remain in fixed positions.

  • Use in wet and dry and wet environments, depending on caster
  • Choice of materials:
    • Standard (plated horns and stainless steel axles) – for everyday use
    • Polymer (polymer horns, stainless steel axles, and sleeve-style axle bearings) – for uses where corrosion resistance and enhanced durability are important
    • Stainless steel cart-washable (stainless steel horns/axles/stems and Zerk fittings in swivels and axles – for withstanding high-pressure washings
    • High-temperature autoclave – for withstanding constant heat and humidity
  • 3½” (89 mm) flexible polymer donut bumpers included with all stem casters to protect walls from damage
  • Choice of wheel treads (choices dependent on caster type):
    • Resilient rubber, flat or donut – dependable and low-noise
    • Polyurethane flat – long-wearing, abrasion-resistant, and shock-absorbing
    • High modulus donut – grease-/oil-resistant, low-noise, and superior rollability
    • Phenolic flat – budget-friendly, durable, grease-/oil-resistant, and high load-bearing
    • Nylon flat – grease-, oil-, and water-resistant
  • Total per-caster weight capacity of 125–400 lbs (56–182 kg), depending on caster type
